Developer - Caché ObjectScript (x-training provided if required), Birmingham, £35k - £55k pa + pension + medical

Our client is based in Birmingham, you will work remotely initially with only 2-3 days pw in the office later, when it is safe to do so.

The postholder will be serving some of the biggest names in our client’s sector, therefore commitment and attention to detail is essential. There will be opportunities for client site visits and engagement, so excellent communication skills are critical. You will have excellent problem-solving skills and will work as part of a team, on a variety of business & technical issues. 

The role will include:

- Review and analysis of client specifications

- Estimation and production of development proposals

- Building new software in line with client specifications

- Performing solution testing to ensure system integrity

- Servicing defect management activities

- Working within a Scrum team

Our client will train the successful candidate in:

- Development using Intersystems IRIS/Cache/Ensemble technology platform

- Industry business practices

- Agile development practices

- Configuration Management & Continuous Integration

- Atlassian JIRA Issue Management

Required Skills

- Up to 5 years' full stack development experience in an OO environment ideally with skills in HTML/JavaScript/SQL/JSP/Web Services (SOAP).

 - Previous experience with automated software testing tools would be an advantage.

Education:

Ideally to degree level, 2:1 or above in Computer Science or similar
